Balloon Bass HAHAHAHAHAHA!

MY Top Ten "Favourite" Movies

Yes, I know, Conrad has already done this. But i saw a couple of the comments and was about to say, "everyone is entitled to their own oppinion about movies" but i decided that a couple on the list would not have been my choice picks either. So i decided to share another list of my own. This could be considered as my own addition to conrad's list or as an individual list by myself of movies that in my oppinion should have a mention. They are not really in any particular order.

10) Top Gun: I used to love watching this movie when I was around about.... 9 or somethin... Mainly because it was this movie that made me want to be a fighter pilot. But a simple yet effective Tom Cruise classic had to make the list and probably much to some people's disgust. Mixed with fast flying, buzzing the tower and explosions, this is definitely a movie to see before you die.

9) Into the Blue: Though not a really well known movie, but thinking of how movies has influenced my career choices has made me think of how this has influenced what will probably be my final future career. Filled with sharks, treasure and gold as well as a full camera view of leftover leg after a tiger shark had a nibble makes this movie one of my favourites. Plus Jessica Alba is epic in this film!!! :D

8) Jaws: Now we are on the subject of sharks, this is also a series (bunch of far fetched movies) that you must see before you die. Filled with great underwater photography of real sharks and many other interesting mechanical crap and weird story lines, I think it is a must see.

7) James Bond 007: The best Bond movies are not the latest ones. To be real honest, the best is Die Another Day. Daniel Craig is doing an OK job as being Bond, but the storyline is absolutely horrific. What is with the new drink? No vodka martini, Shaken not stirred? The cars are a bit on the odd side and the storyline itself has been made to go back to when he was made an agent yet "M" is still the same woman as in Die Another Day (Pierce Brosnan as Bond). Tsk Tsk... Yet still a set of movies that you must see.

6) Harry Potter: Deserved some sort of mention even though the latest movie was not the greatest (in my oppinion). I would say its because they want to make the last 2 movies AWESOME. Still, watch and read!

5) Dark Knight: I think this was a really good movie Tom. Sorry. Good on you Connie for it being on your list ;)

4) Transformers: Awesome set of movies! I loved the latest one and I think it was better than the first. It had a really good storyline and great camera work etc. The music was somehow epic but I dunno how... ;)

3) Ghost Rider: Another good movie with Nicholas Cage in it. Ghost Rider was a pretty good adaptation from Marvel and I particularly love it on BLU-RAY!!!

2) Underworld: Deserved a mention because the latest movie (prequel) was actually a really good movie. After seeing it, I watched the first two and everything tied itself together.

1) Shooter: Running out of movies to think of but I really like this film... Always respected Snipers in general and considered being a sharpshooter but I don't have the money to get myself into shooting as a sport. The cost is out of this world just for a scope...

0.5) Iron Man: I forgot Iron Man!!! He is epic and I have squeezed him onto my list by defying counting down from ten :P

Lolz!

Ok this is extremely creepy... I opened that pack of deoderant that I got from my Uncle for christmas and it had a calender of all the Ralph girls in it. The weirdest thing ever is not recieving it but that the girl featured on December is named Jacinta (my sister's name)...

(OMG!!!)

Here's one then Miggy...

I know this is creepy, but i think some of the most wierd and catchy lyrics that comes to mind instantly is from "Hit the Floor" by BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE:

I creep up from behind,
Touch your neck move down your spine,
You take a look and breathe so sharp,
Just a matter of time!
Don't scream I ask of you but then you let one out and so its time to go,
I come down on you like a ton of brick,
All over so its time to go

I know this is creepy by the way you can interpret this song but i think this is one of those lyrics that you find that stick...

End of a Great Christmas!

Well, I'm sure your all busy playing with all your new toys and gadgets so I'll make this brief.
My Christmas was awesome!
It started off with what every family must have done this morning... PRESENTS!!!
After opening my many awesome pressies we had a great breakfast consisting of mushrooms, bacon and eggs on toast (minus eggs for me).
Then had a read and general play around with some of my new presents such as FIFA 10 and my new Dive Computer.
Then we had traditional Turkey, roast vegies and cranberry sauce (mmmm)
And soon we will be watching a family movie, GI Joe in nice
COLOURful Blu-Ray (hahaha Joe is colourblind and this is the second christmas joke Joe!)

Once again,
MERRY CHRISTMAS! AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Christmas With Family?

HELL NO!!!
I had a scheduled "family christmas gathering" at a grandparents house today and I got out of it by going to work! With a PERMANENT pay rise! YAY!!!
I got payed to skip a family outing which I didnt want to go to!!! YAY!!!
However the family gathering was an early exchange of presents and apparently, as punishment for double booking on purpose, I can't open any of the presents from my relies...
How will I stand not getting undersized clothing and stupid idiotic books and other useless items for another 5 days? OMG!?!?

Moore River 4TFW!!!

Yes, we all survived Moore River! We managed to brave the elements including wind and harsh sun as well as deathly cold nights in the tent.

Day 1 (Saturday): Had to have been the best day, we all managed to get to the campsite on time and set up our tents with minor troubles. After setting up the tents and putting on sunscreen for the 35+ degree heat, we could not resist going for a swim. Going down to the beach, we had fun both in and out of the water, hightlights including burying Conrad in sand and watching him struggle as the tide came in, as well as wallowing in the water and braving the waves.
After cleaning ourselves up we went back to the campsite and had dinner, followed by some Texas Hold'em Poker in Blaise's tent. Somehow we all became bankrupt by Connie Loo and we all went to bed.
Day 2 (Sunday): Once again going out to the water, we pumped up the boats and went for a paddle. Wong on his body board, me going solo on a green boat and the larger boat towing Tom in his boat similar to mine (Wong plus 3 boats :D) After getting out of the water around mid day, i decided to do some FISHING!!! Going for a scout along the waters edge and going through many Yoga positions, we decided that the best spot was really close to where the sand on the rivers edge ended and rock began.
Tom and I set up for fishing. Tom struggled with his line for quite a while after some annoying kids asked for a go, while I struggled with my small but appealing lure. However my lure was not appealing enough as I had no luck for about an hour, so i changed tactics to a nice bit of Prawn as bait. Not getting any bites, i decided i would try shelling the prawn and on the first few seconds of the first cast, I got meself a BREAM!!!
Tom swearing his many foul words seemed to attract more and more fish, many of them not size as i needed a fish longer than 25cm (minimum limit for Black Bream). The 5th fish was the one i was to eat for dinner, sizing up to be 27cm and the biggest catch of both the day and the whole trip. I went on to catch 14 fish for the day with one being of size, small undersize black bream and a couple of other fish i haven't seen before which i threw back.
Having the fish for dinner as the others had BBQed pizza, we all had another sucessful day at camp, and after being bankrupt once again by Connie Loo at Poker, we turned in for the night.
Day 3 (Monday): Days afterwards become alot more uneventful as people decided to do alot of relaxing excersises such as tanning smiley faces on their stomachs and reading and playing on the PSP's and DS's. Fishing did not yield much but relaxing fun as well as a larger tally of fish for myself (much to Tom's utter disgust :P). But the day ended nicely with a game of football on the beach and another game of cards before bed.
Day 4 (Tuesday): Wind starting to pick up on this day, we had alot less things we could do except socialise and relax. A walk along the beach in the morning and more fishing was really all we could muster as we were getting more and more lazy. Conrad, reeling in his first fish both on a rod and a reel (again to Tom's disgust) as well as some more fish to add to the tally for myself. A change over of adult surpervision from Conor's Dad and Kathy to Geoff's dad Chris, meant that the day was a little more interesting. However, the day became alot more interesting while we were playing football on the grassy area behind our tents (which i think was purposely made empty because we were there). James, recieving the ball, managed to step on the ball and trip over and landing with a thump on the hard earth. Keeping an eye on him, we all began playing an odd game of one touch baskefootball. James, trying to walk off the hit to the head, comes back from his short walk and scaring all of us as he admits to not remembering much of the landscape. Taking him for a short walk soon revealed hospital trip was needed by Chris on his first night at camp, leaving the rest of the camp goers to brave the brewing storm in 1 tent for the night because Miguel's was being absolutely battered.
Day 5 (Wednesday): Mourning the loss of one of our happy campers, alot of us did not feel compelled to do much except relax once again. Managing to go fishing, this time I managed to bring along Conor, who caught three fish on my own rod as I decided to let him have a go. We watched, as Geoff, Conrad and Wong went paddling up the river to the sand dunes so they could body board down them. But a fatal flaw in their plans arose when they realised that to body board down sand dunes you need body boards...(go figure...). But eventually they returned, and Conor stripped down to his undies and went for a dive off an over hanging rock (caught on film) and shortly joined by Duckie! Hiding Duckie from Wong became a problem so he stuffed them in his undies which he proceeded to take off and swim nude in the river much to Wong and Geoff's utter disgust. The day concluded pretty uneventfully and we all went back to sleeping in our own tents.
Day 6 (Thursay): OMG!!! Waking up at 7:30 to pack up the tent! What fun!!! Managing to pack up and sort out everything seemed to be a slight chore but was done in record time. By 10:00am we were all out of the campsite and on our way home to a nice bed and more than enough food.

Great Times Guys! I also think that a thanks should go out to Conor's Dad and Kath for staying with us the first few nights and to Geoff's Dad for staying with us the last 2. Thankyou to all who contributed to the whole stay such as tents, eskies and food. WELL DONE AND WE ALL SURVIVED!!!

PS: Fuck You Joe and i must say that you definitely missed something you would have epically enjoyed but you didn't so :P

I came home to this...

This little "bundle of joy" also known to be Tiger, is now the newest member of our family. Its primary diet? PEOPLE!!!
Don't be decieved by its cute face and pointy ears, but look behind the face to where the claws and teeth lay hidden, ready to strike at anyone who is brave enough to step into its territory; the laundry.
Its still too young to be let around the yard so it is staying in the laundry until he gets used to us and gets a little better at his balance and coordination. Many times has he fallen over his own feet while chasing a toy and then hitting his head somewhere else when unable to stop.
Hiding behind the mops ready to ambush, he waits for unsuspecting people as they go to the toilet...

Clawing...

A great match played by The Awesome after their shocking loss to the bottom team (which wasn't reported on due to immense depression). Their opposition fought hard but to no avail. I don't know if it was just me but the match wasn't really "rough" but more fought hard. I had two parents discuss with me the game afterwards who both thought it was a "dirty" and "rough" game but we deserved to win it. Personally i don't think it was overerly rough as both teams wanted that spot in the Grand Final.

Having been a bit late today i missed the first 2 minutes but the play didn't seem to have resulted in much as the teams were tied at 0-0. Alot of plays through the sides were attempted by both teams but to no avail. This soon changed however when the game began to deteriorate for The Awesome as I came onto the field. Going straight into goal, the opposition managed to score their first goal against The Awesome with a shot being made at an open goal after a strategic cross being made across the face of goal leaving the keeper useless. The game again came harder as both teams pushed for the lead with a close score at half time with a tie or one goal in it (couldn't remember).
The second half is when the tackles began to fire up. Strong tackles were made by both teams as they pushed for the lead. The Awesome's luck began to turn as goals began to fly in. Highlights of these goals include a crackling power shot, a mistake in defense leading to a tap in by Jay as well as an interesting shot by myself resulting in a goal that left me to just shrug at my team mates in both shock and surprise because the connection on the ball and the placement has got to be one of my best. The scores were tied at 4-4 with about 1-2 minutes left. Both teams began to fire up for that final golden goal that could win the game. Who other than Conor could come up with this goal? A well placed and timed shot resluted in a shout of pure joy from both The Awesome and their many fans. After great defending in the last 30 seconds, the final whistle was blown and the game was over much to the swearing and utter disgust of the opposition.

End Score: 4-5 to the Awesome!

Dispite what people said, i don't think it was overly rough, though I think I'm starting to get into the style of play now. I have but one question about this game and that is Why did Tom get sent off??? I have no idea what happened but he didn't seem to complain when he walked off the field. I felt really sorry for Jay because he seems to get battered quite a bit on the field but he managed some great plays that resulted in goals. I think that by not playing/practicing out on the oval at lunch times as we did at school, i think our fitness and our play as a team has begun to deteriorate. Hopefully we keep fit over the holidays... Great play tonight and hope the best for the next game on the 29th of January!

Moore River Tomorow! Time to get the partay started!!!

Great Day Out on the Water!

Despite forcasts, the wind was minimal and the ocean flat, which were the exact conditions that I dived in today. Taking my camera out for a test drive again brought immense disapointment as again it leaked after being replaced by the manufacturer. But despite this mishap and not being able to take the camera on the second dive, I think I ended up taking some of my best photos I have ever taken. Here are some of the best:

After going down, a ledge stretching for about 5-6m had at least a full bag limit of crayfish underneath. These are some of the first ones I found.

After looking under the ledge I turned around and 3 enormous Bull Rays glided past. They were roughly 1.7m in diameter. This is not one of my best photos though...

This is one of favourites, the yellow and pink soft coral polyps are absolutely amazing to look at. These were in abundance on the roof of a large cave i ventured into.

A starfish (Mosaic Sea Star) just for you Joe

An amazing Venusta Cowrie that I found gave me a great opportunity to have a photo out in the open. These cowries are quite uncommon now as they used to be taken off the reef for their beautiful shells. Taking one from the rock usually means another dies, as they move minimally, they usually have 1 mate that dies if the other is taken. Sadly this means that they are quite a rare find now.
Hope you enjoyed my photos and hopefully i get my camera fixed so you can enjoy more!
